Dr. Robert Brose

Post-doctoral research fellow at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies in the Computational and High Energy Astrophysics Group

About me

I am post-doctoral researcher at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies working mainly on high-energy astrophysics in the context of supernova remnants. I helped to develop the numerical toolset RATPaC (Radiation Acceleration Transport PArallel Code) to study the acceleration of high-energetic non-thermal particles in the shock-waves succeeding supernova explosions. Further, I was involved in the very-high gamma-ray observatory VERITAS and recently joined the H.E.S.S.-collaboration.

Education:

  • PhD, Astrophysics, University of Potsdam, 2020
Thesis: "From dawn till dusk - modeling particle acceleration in supernova remnants"
  • M.Sc., Physics, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, 2015
Thesis: "Transport of magnetic turbulence in supernova remnants"
