Hi, I'm Paddy and welcome to my webpage! I currently work as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Volcano-Seismology attached to the
EUROVOLC project in the Geophysics Section of the School of Cosmic Physics, at the
Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS).
My current work is focused on improving understanding of volcanic tremor, and developing tools to utilise tremor as
a pre-eruptive monitoring tool.
From September 2010 until February 2019 I was employed as a Research Fellow in Volcano-Seismology at the UWI
Seismic Research Centre, based at the
Montserrat Volcano Observatory (MVO), in Montserrat - a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean - where I was responsible for seismic monitoring of the Soufrière Hills Volcano.
In 2010 I completed my PhD studies at the
University of Leeds where I worked within the Volcanology Group (
VSG), part of the
Institute of Geophysics & Tectonics,
School of Earth & Environment at
The University of Leeds.
My PhD title was
Attenuation of Volcanic Seismic Signals and my supervisor was Prof.
Jürgen Neuberg (aka
Locko). For a more detailed description of my PhD thesis and my other research
interests click
